April 20, 1938 - March 16, 2021
Eulogy By Alan Tablada
Before I get started I want to thank everyone for physically and virtually being here. A big thanks to St. Andrews church and everyone affiliated with it most especially to father mel for taking the time to lead this beautiful celebration of my moms life. And as I have shown and expressed to all of the family, thank you for the prayers, kind words, and support given to mom... she would be very thankful and happy that all of us our here to share this day.
As everyone knows, standing here isn’t easy and I’ve tried so many ways to come up with something to say about mom and knowing her she would just want me to say something or say something like what... and that’s exactly what I will say ... something ... something like what. Sorry mom.
If there were a few words I could use to describe mom: they would be caring and sharing, generous and strong.
Caring would be her thinking of others before herself.... whenever someone needed anything she would go out of her way to make sure that person had the comforts of home... whether it was food or just a hug from a friend.
Sharing... she would never want to be in the spotlight alone and would bring those along with her who also deserved it... especially with her birthday she would make sure the candles included all those born in April that she knew and have them blow them out with her.
Generous... during the holidays she made sure no one was without a gift... whether it was monetary or something that matched her unique personality.... and all of us who received a gift of that nature know what I’m talking about!
Strong... I’ll make this into 2 categories: strong willed and strong in general....she was small but had that don’t get in my way attitude and made sure you knew it... and all of us that know her have seen this and if you say haven’t... you’re in denial! If she liked you she made it known... and if she didn’t ... no comment. Also, she remained strong when my dad became ill and during his passing and kept that way until the end of her life.
I will miss you mom and know that you will be reconnected with the ones we have lost before you... I’m hoping you will be greeted by Lulu Alexander smiling and waving to you hello... our neighbors joe and Barbara brink will be wondering where have you been ... my best friend, Alex Cabellon and his dad, will be waving to you excitedly to bring to ... our cousin Gido who will give you the biggest hug and bring you to uncle Meddy, auntie Dulce and auntie Angie where they will be smiling and screaming with excitement when you arrive then lead you to lolo and Lola where they will tell you we love you and thank you for being the best daughter to the family.. your birds: sunny, Georgie 1 and 2, Maria and Mario whom all will fly onto your shoulders and they will be tweeting at you excitedly and happily... and then you will greeted by dad whom will be holding out his hand and greet you with the warmest hug and kiss... saying I’m glad we are now together once again.
We love you mom and thank you for showing us all of these traits! We will miss and know that you will always be in our hearts wherever we are! Thank you for being the best mom, friend, tita, mare and Lola to all of us!
In Loving Memory
Agnes passed peacefully from this life on the morning of March 16, 2021, after a gradual decline in her health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, family, and caregivers during the last days of her life.
Agnes was born on April 20, 1938 in Pilar, Cebu, Philippines. She immigrated to Maryland, USA in 1971. She retired as a Pharmacist from the Prince George’s Hospital after over 30 years of service. At retirement, she kept herself busy with her apo-stolic mission (babysitting grandkids), volunteering her time at the community center by handing out donated food to families in need, and caring for her late 20-year-old companion, Sunny, the singing cockatiel, whom she taught to whistle the Andy Griffith theme song to perfection. She might have been seen as a tiny woman but had a larger than life outlook and personality and “I’ll speak my mind” attitude. She was an avid fisherwoman, always outfishing her brothers. She was also a garden and flower enthusiast. If one were to describe her in one word, it would be a “flower”, beautiful and colorful, and quite literally would look like one too because all of her wardrobes had flower designs on them. Her other hobbies include shopping and eating at buffet restaurants. She loved to bargain and eat! Agnes was often described as the life of the party, a firecracker, a bird whisperer, and a person with an enormous heart, always caring and supporting others before herself. She was best known as the matriarch of the family, the disciplinarian, the best Lola-pop to the many grandkids and a wonderful, fun loving, selfless, and a very generous person to so many others. Strong was her soul as well as her heart and she will always remain forever this way in our hearts.
Agnes was also blessed in so many ways especially with a large and loving family. She was the daughter of *Francisco and Leonarda Jao. She was happily married to *Constancio Tablada. She was a devoted mother to her three sons, Gerard Tablada (Roselle), Alan Tablada (Angela), and Thomas Tablada (Archilline); loving sister of Bienvenido Jao (Venus), *Archimedes Jao (Resurrection), *Dulcisima Sion (Rogelio(Rosario)), Eleno Jao (Milagros), Fe Fernandes (*Adventor), Francisco Jao Jr. (Rose), Gem Jao (Monina), and Hermogina Co (Jovincio). She is also survived by her grandchildren Geselle, Tyler, Chloe, Abigail, Isabella, and Ethan.

Thank You
Words cannot express the feelings in our hearts. We thank you for providing our family with your love, support, and by being with us during this difficult time. Your thoughts, prayers, generosity, and words of sympathy are greatly appreciated. It is through this compassion that our family is able to cope with the sadness of losing our dearest mom. God bless you all.
